-Background checks completed for every potential leader
-Potential leaders must fill out an application (personal history, experience, and their stance on issues such as drinking, premarital sex, abortion, homosexuality, and eating disorders)
-The K-Life staff conducts potential leader interviews
-K-Life’s expectations are communicated to the leaders regularly (about their commitment, time, and pursuing goals with excellence)
-Bimonthly training for small group leaders by the K-Life staff on how to lead a small group, how to interact with students, etc
-One on one time with kids is spent in a public setting
-Monthly accountability for each small group leader by staff
-Leaders must sign and consent to the Leader Agreement (agreeing to policies and stances from the K-Life National Office such as not drinking alcohol, dressing modestly, not viewing R rated movies with students, and committing to grow in their relationship with God through quiet times, witnessing, Scripture memory, active church attendance and involvement in accountability)
-A board member is present at each club night
-K-Life staff have graduated from the Kanakuk Institute, a one year Biblical and youth ministries training program
-Potential K-Life staff completes a thorough application process including an individual application and three references
-The National K-Life Office, as well as the local city board, interview potential K-Life staff
-The emotional, physical, and spiritual health of kids is our paramount importance
